o 98-99 Competitors in Euro Competitions

---------------------------------------------

Entrants by Competition

The rankings in the table below refer to the current UEFA Coefficients rankings from 93-98 which are used to determine

The color coding used in the table is a graphical way of indicating the rankings from the 92-97 coefficients, which are used to determine the number of UEFA Cup places each nation is allotted next year. The colors also give an idea of the changing fortunes of countries over the last year. Greece, for example, has risen from 9th to 8th , thus gaining the 2nd Champions League berth contraversially denied them last year while Turkey, their victors in that fierce battle last year, fell dramatically from 8th to 14th. If you want to know more, read Martin Protzen's FAQ on UEFA's Seedings System.

As regards reading the table, all entries will hold one team unless otherwise specified by a number. If you grow impatient waiting for domestic seasons to end and this table to fill up, you might want to to take a look at how it all shook up last year. Finally, if you can help in completing the table, have comments to make or even questions to ask, don't hesitate to mail me. Merci.

Now, it seems that UEFA is prepared to abide with the sports tribunal's findings and re-instate the Brussels club. Shame.
